The Division of the State Architect (DSA) promulgates California Building Code (CBC) provisions to address accessibility for persons with disabilities. These provisions are applicable to State and local government buildings and facilities, privately owned public accommodations and commercial facilities, and public housing. DSA has updated its CBC Advisory Manual and the Expanded Table of Contents to include the provisions adopted by the California Building Standards Commission for the 2016 CBC triennial code adoption cycle on January 19th, 2016. The 2016 CBC is published on July 1, 2016, and becomes effective on January 1, 2017. The advisory manual includes the provisions adopted by DSA for access compliance, pertinent advisories developed by DSA and advisories from the US Department of Justice from the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.

CCDA Mission Statement The mission of the California Commission on Disability Access (CCDA) is to promote disability access in California through dialogue and collaboration with stakeholders including, but not limited to, the disability and business communities as well as all levels of government.
