These two numbers can be used to track down the manufacturer and the specific device driver. The Device ID is the most unique identifier for a device. Hardware ID’s can be less specific. Anyone can boot to a LIVE DVD and do the same. Device Manager is extremely limited. It is only meant to show and control device drivers. It will not show bus speeds; memory sockets available, their max capacity, type and speed of the memory; or the name of the devices plugged into the usb channels. Neither does it show the processor physical socket style.
